Muscat, Oman, 30 April 2018—Oman’s biggest utilities event, Oman Energy and Water Conference and Exhibition, opened its doors for the fourth time on Monday at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre.

His Highness Sayyid Taimur bin Asaad bin Tariq Al Said, Assistant Secretary General for Communication, The Research Council, inaugurated the annual international event among a large and exclusive gathering of ministers, undersecretaries, top officials from the government, decision makers from the largest utilities companies in the private sector, and members of the diplomatic corps.

Oman’s biggest trade and conferences organizer Omanexpo, in partnership with Diam-the Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW), is once again offering a bigger and more comprehensive platform for the trade, bringing in about 150 top names in the power, water and wastewater sectors into direct contact with industry decision makers.

This year, the exhibition will showcase the United Kingdom pavilion and local and international companies from 15 countries: Cyprus, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Italy, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, South Korea, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the USA. To enrich the exhibitor and visitor experience, organizers have set up an online business matchmaking platform that allows fast and convenient access to information about participating companies, products, services and company recommendations.

Ahmed Sayed, exhibition director, says “We are delighted to work with PAEW for the fourth time as we continue to increase our efforts to contribute to the expansion of Oman’s power and water sector to meet demand. Along with these are our objectives to present a ready platform for companies to launch or showcase their product or service offerings to the market and provide opportunities for trade and investment.”

Oman Energy & Water Conference & Exhibition is organized against a backdrop of massive power, water and wastewater projects and the government’s major shift to renewable energy energy and tap the potential of Oman’s solar and wind resources.

Currently, the government is gearing up to call for tenders for its first large-scale solar independent power project (IPP).
